ever see a 1973 50hp tiller?

is there a way to make my 1973 mercury 50hp inline 4 long shaft in to a<br />tiller controlled motor?<br /><br />did they make these as tillers?<br />are there maybe other years or hp that the tillers are interchangeable?<br /><br />come guru's, i know you know, ya know?!

Indeed there is a kit to make it into a tiller motor. I can take some pics of one tomorrow if you want. I'm not sure if they're still available new but there are lots of used one's around. The local marine recycler has quite a few of them here.<br />Eric

I'm looking to convert my 02 50 Merc from tiller to controls. Is that possible?
