Ever tried this????

I have an 81 Evinrude 150 that does not have the speedo hole drilled into the foot. Anyone ever drilled the foot and tapped a fitting in to feed the speedo from the foot? How hard is it? What size bit and fitting should I use. I am thinking it would be very accurate when compared to my external speedo tube.

I wouldnt try it, you would be drilling into the shift cavity, causing an oil leak and probably wiping out the gears, (big $$) those speedo holes are machined into the foot.
