Anyone ever use the Bass wax. It comes in a tube and applies like chap stick. I never heard of it til today. Suppose to stay on really good and they have different scents like shad, crawfish, and 2 others.

I've tried something similar I think called "Grease Lightning" or something like that bought at Gander Mountain. It comes in a small round container similar to smokeless tobacco. I've tried it a few times but didn't notice any big difference in hook ups.

Re: Ever use Bass wax?

I tested it last year a bit, I still have some and will continue to use it. I had a situation where the Bass were hitting over a weedbed on rattle traps. I used it and didnt put it on my buddies, I caught about two to one fish compared to him. Same bait, same pole, same color, same retrieve. Switched baits with him, and he out fished me about the same the next day. So I would have to say that there is something to it. It stays on well also. The fish also seemed to srtike harder while using it.

:D Well, ya never know

I remember seeing a Hank Parker Outdoors show one time (Best of the worst), Where he sprayed some kind of a sparkly crayfish sent on a plastic worm and put it in his mouth making some comment about how good it tasted. Next shot showed him spitting it out into the lake and practically throwing up and then showing the sparkly things in the water. Guess it wasnt so good.

Lipstick will do just as well, but costs less. Mary Kay Lucious Cherry Red works best in my opinion.

Not hard to put on but buffing the little guys can be tricky. Sorry, just had to.

Sounds like a product the targets fishermen well, I really thought this discussion was about boat wax until the mention of catching more bass was shared. I'm curious as to how this product could possibly help us fishermen catch more fish? How in the world could a fish tell if your lure has been waxed or not? I'm not mocking anyone, so please don't take my curiosity as being mean or rude.
