Time vs Money. If you have the time build your own. If the hull is in good shape and you plan on keeping it, aluminum construction is prefered.

Advantages of plywood is that it materials are cheap, and with the amount you need you could scare some up from a friendly woodworking neighbor, or family member. When it starts to fall apart use the pieces of the first one as a templates and whip out another.

Imagine that one on ebay as if it was made out of a single piece. Like a complicated cardboard box. Cut lines and fold lines. Refined cardboard mock-up gets traced onto a piece of aluminum. Cut it out. A little application of heat and a hand brake to bend the tabs. (one shot at this, practice on scrap to get technique down) then pop rivet the whole thing together.

$175 could be spent on something else for the boat.

My two cents. Enjoy

I would go with wood, a nice one would look a lot better and you can design it for your needs.

Yeah, seems like a whole lot of money for what it is.
If you're reasonably handy just make your own.
