Re: EVI 115 Gearbox removal questions
Mine is an 84 v4 has the shift rod hex head screw (with screwdriver slot) that you have to remove first. (easier if you first tilt all the way up) You can move shifter up and down to see the shift rod and screw. It is not real easy to see. You need socket/1/4 drive rachet/long extension. Remove this screw first. Then you can remove the screws that hold the gearcase onto the midsection. You have one screw hiding under the trim tab. DO NOT HAVE FINGERS under the unit. Ask me how I know. This should have the gearcase free and ready to slide down. You have to move it far enough downward to clear the shift rod and the splined driveshaft.
