evin 150 worth it

i found an evenrude 150 for sale never had 1 before i run mercs so is it worth a 1000 bucks or should i stick to my merc, not too sure on motor its real clean not been run in a few years old mans and i think its a 83 or 84

what the model number. compression number, spark test, water in oil check, on any outboard.

Is your boat rated for 150? Holeshot and top-end might improve a bit, but why risk it? I probably wouldn't.
