I just bought a 1983 boat with an 1983 Evinrude Model# E115TLCNB / Serial # J0188410. On my test run I noticed some small issues. See my earlier post about a water leak under the lower port cylinder. Two other issues:
1. There seems to be alot of slop on the starboard tilt pivot point. With the motor fully tilted up, When I grab the lower unit, and lift I can move the motor up and down on this side. Is there a bushing missing? the port side seems OK. Can anyone check their manual to see if there is normally a bushing in the pivot. The steering cable is new so I know this area has been worked on.
2. After running at speed for about 10 minutes the fuel line bulb collapses, and I lose power. I cracked the tank cap and it didn't help. if I disconnect the line at the tank, then after a few seconds the bulb returns to normal, and I can pump it, and the motor runs fine for another 10-15 minutes.
Any ideas?
Thanks !!!!
