I have just agreed to buy an evinrude 140hp v4 (2-stroke) which comes with an evinrude 90 hp for donor parts. I am told many of the parts are interchangeable by the seller, but I don't know if he's telling the truth or not. Is this right??? The 140hp will require some bolts to attatch it to the transom. What size do I need please?

Many of the parts will be identical such as the crankshaft, con rods, pistons, bearings etc.

The crankcase, cyl heads, carburetors etc will be different. I'm sure you'll figure it out as you go along.

Bolts..... The shaft = 1/2" dia. Hex head and nut = 3/4. Length = As needed. Make sure you get the stainless steel type bolts, washers, nuts. You want them to last.
