Hello All,
I have an Evinrude 150HP V6 VRO, that is a 1989 to 1991 model (not sure, model tag is faded - best guess based on the Evinrude website engine schematics). Looks like the previous owner attemted a rewiring job, and there are 2 cables coming from the engine. I thought there was only supposed to be one. Only things connected and working are the ignition switch and the engine tilt switch. The ignition switch will push-to-choke, and start the engine, but will NOT turn off the engine (have to choke it to kill the engine). The tilt switch works perfect. Each of the starter and tilt switches are on separate multi-wire cables coming from the engine... pic attached... the switch on the left is the tilt, and the switch on the right is the ignition. Please confirm... should there be 2 cables coming from the engine? or just one? Thanks!!
Doug
