EVINRUDE 15HP 1988 WON'T RUN

I JUST BOUGHT THIS MOTOR. IT RAN WHEN I BOUGHT IT BUT IT DIDN'T SEEM TO HAVE THE TYPE OF POWER I HAVE SEEN OUT OF OTHER EVINRUDE 15'S. I TRIED TO ADJUST THE CARB NEEDLE AND ALL OF THE OTHER JUNK ATTACHED TO THE CARB AND NOW THE MOTOR WON'T RUN. IT HAS SPARK, NEW PLUGS, NEW FUEL, AND THE VENT IS OPEN ON MY TANK. ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE APPRECIATED! THANKS

I just saw your old post and hope you found your problem by now. If not make sure the idle fuel mixture screw is adjusted. Pull off plastic knob and gently turn screw all the way in with screwdriver, then back out about 1 full turn to get in the ball park. Adjust later while trolling at slow speed by turning in very slowly until slight sputter than back out 1/4 turn at best running within that 1/4 turn. Make sure timing and carb linkage are adjusted right. Be sure that carb is filling up with gas. If you spray carb cleaner into carb and it starts when it wouldn't before then you were not getting fuel out of it. Look at this web site; www.sschapterpsa.com/ramblings/OMC/OMC info.htm
