1993 Evinrude 175 OceanPro

Replaced the water pump, impellar, and thermostat in October and ran about 3 hours at optimum temperature. Put the boat in the water yesterday after the winter. Temperature is fine at idle, but begins to creep up when over 3000 rpms. Running way too hot than what is normal.

What's going on? Not enough oil to the engine from the injector? Thanks for any help...

Re: Evinrude 175 Running Hot

I have a Suzuki that I replaced the thermostat in October also and found that after I did some repairs in January that the "new" thermostat was stuck closed and would overheat the engine above idle. So check the thermostat even though it is new and go from there.

pull the head covers and check the water passage tubes...small rubber tubes that fit in the water passages...these sometimes collapse/clog
