This is my first post, it's kinda long but here I go. Just bought a 18 HP evinrude at a yard sale that had been sitting for several years. The serial # 18902 tells me that it's a 1969 but I can't find any info about the model # E05455 , Any help there ? I cleaned the plugs , checked the wire for frays or corosion , sprayed some WD40 into the plug holes ,got new gas , pulled the rope and it fired right up on the third pull.It seems to idle ok but its a little rough . Its got a ton of compression so I feel its a pretty good motor.I would be interested in putting a electric starter on this motor if it's possible. And if it is possible, where would i find the parts such as solenoid [ if needeed] starter cross over numbers , harness and anything else I might need? .Also carb kit #'s? .I just ordered a Seloc manuel that might give me some of the info but it won't be here before Friday.
Sorry for the long post.
Thanks in advance

follow the prompts in this link, you can see every parts of your motor, and a parts list. there are many online sites for parts. including here. sounds like you need to do a carb cleaning and rebuild, and definately need to do a water pump kit.

I see requests for electric start kits info very often. I don't know, it seems like more people want used kits than ever bought new ones?? I suppose they are wherever you find them.

As long as compression is good as you say the motor is a very solid one and should give you years of trouble free use.
