Evinrude 1961 5.5HP.Disconnecting shift shaft ?

I need some help to know how to remove the arm of the shifter to be able to disconnect the shift shaft because I want to change the water pump. So, if someone knows how to do that, I would appreciate to have some explanations about that. Thank you.

On that one you need to pop the powerhead off. The shiftrod is connected to a pin on the shift arm. <br /><br />Good luck!
