Hi all,
Fired up my 1962 Evinrude Sportwin this afternoon after a LU/ignition/carb rebuild. Started up great and sounds really smooth, but the first thing i noticed was TWO streams of water coming from these holes:

They are not drain-holes from the exhaust casing, they lead to the seperate section of the housing that the drive-shaft goes up (inside its own tube). Are these twin pee-holes from the cooling system? I did clean a hell of a lot of crap out the thermostat housing and replace the thermo, but water DID NOT come out of these holes prior to the rebuild, only a spray out of the exhaust here:

If water is not supposed to come out of here then I have a serious water problem somewhere. I am hoping that I've just got away with running the motor without cooling for two years, or maybe a thermostat stuck open?
Looking forward to a response so I can get back out there and tune the carb.
Thanks in advance guys!
Edd
