evinrude 1981 90 hp...advice

i have the opportunity yo buy a friends boat ,16 foot sangstercraft. it comes with a 90 hp 1981 evinrude.by his words the motor runs like a top but it hasn,t been run in 3 years.besides checking the compression...and lower unit oil(after i test drive it), is there anything i should know about these 81 90,s?

excellent motor.<br /><br />check compression and spark. i would expect that the carbs need a thorough cleaning and the fuel pump needs replacing. also replace the waterpump impeller and check/replace the thermostat.<br />just a few....
