I was sent the wrong year Manual for my engine, was sent from 1991 on, so untill I get new one can anyone please help with following, the plugs in engine now are Champion L77JC4, asked for replacements and were given NGK BR7HS are they ok? and what should gap be?1991 manual says for 40 .30th but I note elsewhere on site gap is .40th, any help please, many thanks again, JBD.

Insist on the Champions, I had to wait 3 days to get them from Autozone not knowing Wallymart had them in stock, gap is .040" ;)

Just confirming MCM - lotsa posts here urging boaters with OMC engines to use the Champs called for by OMC. One of our "experts" goes so far as to advise the risk of severe damage in running NKGs.

L77JC4, crosses to a B9HS NGK plug, the one they gave you is two steps colder,

Thank you to all for help, I wondered if they would be correct? good job I never fitted them, I don't know why one can't be given the correct item unless it's a genuine mistake, this can all lead to problems, but the person like me who depends on getting correct item from supplier thinks they are doing right think by putting in new plugs etc; (wrong plugs) then have running gremlins! I will today return them to supplier who does not sell Champion and get refund! thanks again gentlemen for help JBD.
