Evinrude 1989 88 horsepower outboard V-4 Prop Question

Hello,<br /><br />Does diameter have a big effect on performance? I know pitch does though. I own a 1989 Evinrude 88 Horsepower SPL V-4 outboard on a 15.5 footer ski boat small though. Currently it has a 12 3/4 X 21 prop; however, I switched it out with the 14 X 19 prop because I wanted a little more pull power. I haven't tested it yet, but was just wondering before I went out in the boat. I figured I would go down in pitch to a 19 pitch for a little more pull power.

You have 2 different blade designs there...the 14X19 is the newest.<br />Alot depends on the size of the boat, but the larger diameter can be run at a higher engine mounting location.
