This little motor was running last year but would lock up when not in use if it wasn't turned over about every 5 days. Eventually it wouldn't turn over at all while sitting and I think I found the problem. The lower unit spins free now that it has been removed. My question is what is the name of the part surrounded by 4 bolt holes in the pic? How does it come off I have tried prying but no luck and does anybody know where I might find a replacement part? It is an 80's mate I believe.

Thank you the part I need is the bearing housing assembly. My motor is a 1985 but nobody seems to have this part. Anybody know where I might find it in stock? Also how does it come off? Am I just not prying hard enough or is there a special tool needed?

if i am not mistaken that isjust an asssembly..dont quote me on this but i think you can replace the bearings once you get that off...not 100% sure

as far as stock...i would call some dealers or do an extensive internet search, the part number may have been superceded and may have changed..so it may exist under another part number

ill poke around..you do the same..ill be back
