Evinrude 20 1990

I just picked up a 1990 20 hp that will need some work, while I have it apart does anyone know what differences there are between a 20,25 and 30 hp?(I believe they all have the same displacement)is there anything that can be done to add horsepower by just adding different parts from higher hp engines.<br />Thankyou for any help

GRK, you can make that engine into a 35hp if you wanted to. you will need to find a bigger bore carb, from like a 50-70 hp motor of about the same yr. this carb will need to be rejetted, be carefull about leaning it out, it will also need a 35hp intake bypass cover. and possibly a higher comp cyl head. i just got finished hopping up my 35hp, and just about to dyno it. should be around 40-45. good luck..<br />SP
