E225cxcce runs very hot if under 2000 rpm The pressure seems good 8-10 lbs.
Above 2000 rpm the temp drops to the low edge of the green and will stay there all day.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

new impeller. at low rpm it's not putting enough water in the motor. at high rpm it is.

The temp gauge can be misleading. Does the hot horn go off at all? We'll assume you haven't hit it with a thermal temp gun since you didn't mention that.

Stuck thermostat(s) is another possibility. They control water temp at low rpm. The bypass valve unseats at higher rpm to provide more water flow. You might also check to make sure the warning horn is working. If it gives a short beep when you turn the key on it is working.

No I havn't hit it with a gun this is all off the guage. It does not set off the horn the guage just shoots right up near the red. I had the impeller changed about 80 hours ago could the impeller be bad that quick?

If you've tested the overheat warning circuit to make sure the horn works and it hasn't gone off, it isn't overheating. They will indeed run hotter at idle, they're supposed to. Several things can make it show "hotter" than it is. We'll assume the sender for the gauge is screwed in the threaded hole in one of the heads, right?

If all you changed was the impeller, go ahead and get the plate & liner. We always change the entire kit. Less work - you don't have to clean up the plate, liner & housing.
