OK, my ongoing saga with my 1985 Evinrude 25hp continues...
This morning I stripped down the carb and replaced the float, gaskets, etc. hoping this would improve the running/idling.
It hasnt.
Still the same problem as before.
The engine will run if I take the lid off and manually hold the throttle at faster than normal but when the throttle is released, the engine splutters and stops.
My needle valve was originally set at 12 turns out, which is why I repaired the carb.
Now the needle valve is 1 and a half turns out.
2 new sparks, new impeller, etc.
The only thing I havent looked at is the pivot pin on the side of the engine. Its attached to the throttle control rod. When I adjust this slightly, it enables the engine to idle smoothly. Should I be tinkering with that?
