My 1970's vintage 28 hp needs a carb rebuild but after taking a look at it, I can't figure out how to get it off with the starter in the way. Looks hard to do.
I believe they only made the 28hp in the early 60's and not again until the 80's-90's. If it's an early 60's motor (with magneto ignition), yes, you do need to remove the starter or at least loosen the bracket and swing it out of the way.
