Evinrude 2hp starting problem

I've got a 2hp Evinrude - late 1990's model - that won't engage the flywheel when I pull the starter rope. New problem this year. Thanks for any help.

Howdy, RDalton.<br /><br />You have a broken or simply stuck dog on the starter.<br /><br />Take it off and inspect the operation. Lubricate it.<br /><br />DO NOT disassemble it until and unless you have the manual to tell you how to avoid injury.<br /><br />Good luck.

thanks JB. I'll take a look at it again tonight and see if I can set that dog free.

JB - Thanks for the suggestion. I lubed the starter and was able to free it up. Works great now.
