My brother in law just got a 197? Evinrude 33hp. We didn't get a chance to start it on the weekend but I did show him how to adjust the high and low speed jets. I noticed when I was looking at the engine there was black sticky stuff that looked like it had leaked out of one of the screws. It looked like it had leaked a while ago and then just dried up there. I'm pretty sure that this motor doesn't have oil injection, any idea on what this black fluid is?
I want to make sure before we add oil to the gas.
