Re: Evinrude 35hp Big Twin

Welcome to the iboats.com forum. The experts here, which I am not, can help you fix any problem with a boat, motor and trailer. There are two standard locations on Evinrude (OMC) outboard motors of that era that display model and serial numbers. One is on the side of the transom bracket and it should be a metal plate with the info engraved. The other is a quarter-sized aluminum disk pressed into the top, rear of the powerhead . Good luck!

It's newer than a '56 (30hp then). If it's blue/black/white on an aluminum cowl and has a 2-line hose it's either a '57 or '58. IF the cowl is fiberglass it's newer.
as said, check the plug in the side of the motor.
