Re: Evinrude 48 spl (1989) ignition timing
George,You shouldn't do new posts on the same motor you can bump your post up with your new problem/Q it's impossible to keep track of the process of your motor.
That said, you really need to be working from a manual
there is a timing procedure in the carbutor section.and there is a testing procedure in the ignition section.these are both too involved to deal with here.If you can't afford a manual you may find one at the library. You'll need to get a card but no cost and they usually can order a book if they don't have one.You can order aftermarket manuals right here,amazon.com,or even at NAPA auto parts.I got mine off eBay.2 "Intertec" manuals covering many brands one under 30 hp and one over 30 hp.69-89.These were close to new.
about $30 for the pair including postage.I have seven manuals mostly to help here I like giving folks a hand
here it's a kick when they solve their problem.
