Evinrude 48 SPL lower unit plug

I am going to change the lower unit oil soon and I was wondering if this engine model should have the washer replaced each time the lower unit oil is changed? I have not drianed it yet, I am just trying to get everything I need before hand.

Also, I have purchased the Quicksilver Marine Premium Gear Lube SAE 80W-90 to replace with. Am I on the right track? The procedure doesn't seem to be too diffucult, I just don't want to get something wrong. Thank you in advance.

yes i replace the washer each time so you have no problem gething it seald back up.the oil is fine you have just make shure you put it from the botom up in it so you have no airpockets in the LU.
