Evinrude 4hp

I have a 4 hp Evinrude, model BE4RCUD, ser # B1549054, that is seized up from sitting and exposure to salt water. I have been soaking the various parts with PB Blaster and have been trying to remove the power head from the lower unit.<br /><br />I just purchased a service manual, but it doesn't seem to have enough detail so that I can tell if I'm missing a necessary step. I have been unable to remove the power head or lower unit. I don't want to use too much force in trying to seperate the parts as I'm obviously afraid of breaking something.<br /><br />Anyone have experience with this particular motor and where I might be missing something??<br /><br />Any help will be appreciated

sounds like the corrosion has your head and lower unit stuck!!! all i can say is every time you run it in salt water flush it with fresh water!

Yup, but I didn't own it until recently. Bought it cheap with the hope that I could unstick it. Not going well so far.<br /><br />Not much salt water here though, so if I can get it freed up it might stay that way.
