Evinrude 55 horse... What years were they made?

trying to find out what year the Evinrude 55 was made... and what year did they stop making them? And were the 55's the Hydro Electric shift motors?

Can I assume you are talking about the 3-cylinder 55hp? They were made 1968-69, and in 1970-71 they were 60hp. Hp continued to increase in later years

Also, there were 2-cylinder 55hp motors in later years.

The 3-cylinder 55hp was Hydro-Electric, as was the 60 and the 1972 65hp
