Just picked up a 1992 Evinrude 6 hp (E6RENM). Im new to all this and really nead an owners manual. Cant believe how much they want for new manual ($50). Motors only worth a coulple hundred. Any alternatives? Any place I can get a manual for this motor at reasonable cost? I mainly want owners or operators manual right now. May get a service manual down the road.

Correct manuals are not cheap or "reasonable", whatever that means. If you get lucky you might find one on ebay.

There are stolen pirate copies on DVD around cheap, but not worth the price.

Best bet is www.outboardbooks.com

Good luck. :)

I stumbled across outbboardbooks. They are the one that wants $50. This is a rip off in my opinion but may have to go that route. Plan to hold off for a while and hope I can find a used one. I hate it when places like this take advantage and put the shaft to consumers.

Well then, I suggest that you go into business producing reprints (after purchasing copyright) and see what you have to charge to make an honest profit.

Nothing honest about charging $50 for an owners manual.

I guess you are one of those folks who know everything without any experience or training. Sorry to have wasted your time.
