Hi there, I have an Evinrude 6hp. Model: E6RET8, color: blue. Any idea on what year this is? Also, motor has the Lower Oil plug thread is stripped any way that can be fix or I will have to buy another lower unit?<br /><br />I will really appreciate any help of you part.<br />Thank you

E=Evinrude<br />6=6HP<br />R=Rope start<br />ET=1993 model<br />8, or could be B is just like a revision or series<br /><br />you don't want to have to buy lower unit they can be pricey. is the screw stripped or hole? you might could tap the hole and get a new drain screw if feasible

Hi there, thanks for you quick reapply, the hole is the one stripped, is there anyway that I can secure the screw? I already tide the screw and there is no oil leak but I'm afraid it may come lose do to the pressure on the water. <br />Thanks
