Im looking at a kicker motor and have found a 11/98 6hp mod# e6rl4eem .
I understand this to be a 4 stroke
my question is are they any good?
anyone here have experience with one?
it's currently remote steer I'll probably change to tiller what years will fit this?

That model number is a 1999 motor, long shaft, yes 4-stroke. I have zero experience with it, but it appears that it originally had a tiller consisting of a multitude of parts.

Go to shop.evinrude.com, look up your motor and you'll see what parts you need to make it a tiller.
