Evinrude 70 -1990 ignition timing

Hello! I have a mechanic handbook and tried to find a way to set ignition timing, the book talks about two methods, and my engine is method B. With this engine it doesn´t seem to be any way to set ignition timing at idle power, but only at max rpm. Does anyone know if that´s correct. As an amateur it´s a bit hard to set timing at 5000 rpm. I have a little too much smoke at idle so I would like to try readjusting the timing.<br />Any tip how to set timing at idle power would be appreciated.<br /><br />speedselect

Your engine can be timed spinning it with the starter and the method has been posted here numerous times. Try the "FAQ" or "Search" function.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
