Hello,
I have another question for you guys regarding my electric start 1987/88 Evinrude 9.9 wiring.You were absolutely spot on last time, thanks, and its now charging fine. The wiring from the engine to the steering position is a bit of a mess and I want to tidy it up.
In addition to the main positive and negative power wires, there are the following 4 wires coming out of the engine-
1) Red. I think this is for the starter solenoid
2) Brown.
3) Bright green.
4) Black (no yellow stripe) I think this goes to the kill switch at the steering position.
Also, I have identified this kill switch where it goes into the 5 pin plug for the power pack. Is there a way I can make up a temporary kill switch at the engine, please? I have heard you cannot simply ground this wire.
