evinrude and johnson

I have a 2 horse Souziki and I find lately that there is a lot of black carbon forming on the plug, so after a run it wont start till I either clean the plug or change it
Would this be due to a faulty ignition or what?

Any advice on this ?

Are you trolling/idling a lot? Some motors tend to foul up the plugs if idle a lot.

You really should check this in the Suzuki forum - or is this the same engine as the Johnson/Evinrude?

Also check the plug #'s and make sure they are correct. This could happen if the plugs are too cool running. With some engines you can run hotter plugs if you idle/troll a lot. Also if this is a 2 stroke engine, make sure you arent putting too much oil in the gas.
