Evinrude Boston Whaler Controls Help

I bought a motor (1986 Evinrude 90 vro) with controls which came off of a 17ft Boston Whaler Montauk center console. My boat is a side console StarCraft Holiday, but not concerned with making a box and mounting these to use. I'm rebuilding the motor and looking through all the controls and accessories to keep busy in the meantime. The controls I am familiar with have an idle warm up lever. These controls, however, don't have a warm up lever, but have labels on the handle which instruct to "pull" for neutral. Pull on what??? Nothing is hooked up yet as I am just playing around with the stuff for now, but I sure don't see how this all works correctly. Can someone tell me how these control operate? Is there a separate neutral switch? I don't know. Just curious how to operate these when I get everything together. I don't want to be "that guy" who starts the motor and launches the boat back into the parking lot due to it being in gear...don't think that could happen, but you get the idea. Would really appreciate some helpful suggestions. Thanks.

Pull the handle out from the center of the control box usually lets you stay in neutral while moving the throttle forward some to warm up. Try it and see what happens. Good luck

I used to have a CC Montauk as well. Like Will said above, pulling out on the handle (of the Binacle-style controls) will disengage the gear box cable and allow the throttle to become the same as your idle warm-up lever. Are you planning to use your old controls again? As long as its OMC to OMC everything should hook right up.
