Hi all,
I've been working on a 1977 35HP Evinrude, model #: 35753H I Just finished making my own engine harness. I put on a fresh battery, squirted a little pre-mix in the carb throat and she fired right up. I was excited as this motor hasn't been run in 15 years.

I took the carb off, as I figured it would be in very poor shape. It wasn't. However, when I removed the low speed idle needle valve, the delwin retainer fell apart. That's the piece that keeps the needle from moving when the motor is running (from vibration). How do I find another one of these? Or, is there another method to keep the needle setting in place? I know many engines use a spring. Would this work?

Thanks,

Shane
