carb and toilet bowls work the same way... the raising float stops the inflow of water...or fuel in a carb

when either one does not work you have overflow :)

take the carb apart , inspect & fix the mechanical issue stopping the inlet needle from doing it's job of shutting the inflow of fuel .

on older carbs with cork floats...some get " fuel logged" & sink and never float up to stop incoming fuel

check for warping on the plastic top

that is what i thought also. The float is working properly, there is a port hole connecting the fuel to the top before it gets to the float

There is an issue with the float or float valve.----That is why one carburetor is leaking !----What port connects to the top ?-----Pictures needed so we understand what you are talking about.

the black plastic top has notches 2 on each side. squeez the bulb gas shoots a foot out of the notch directly above the gas inlet nipple

i have taken apart and cleaned. Float and valve are working perfectly. The gas goes directly to the top before the float chamber. I am going to try and seal the vent

No ----I do not think gas supply for the carburetor goes to the plastic cover.-----The wee hose from the primer valve ( it is not a pump ) injects fuel when key is pushed in during cranking.----This fuel does not go to the float bowl or metering circuits in the carburetor.
