Saw a pair of coils and points for sale for my 1960 5.5 fisherman. Seller stated very little use about 15 yrs old. The plug wires were not attached to the coils. The ends do not appeared to be damaged. Can they be reinserted with no problems.
Personally, I wouldn't be messing with 15 yr old ignition parts. if the moitor is running good, leave it alone. If you need coils, get new. They aren't that much.
