I have 2 evinrudes, one from 63 10 hp. made in canada and one 5,5 from 64 made in Belgium.

I am now wondering where can I get the exact right blue colour and when did they start building outboards in Belgium (Brugs)?

Re: Evinrude colour + mfg

Hi Bolaget,
There is no "exact" color match, in part because there was never an "exact" match to begin with. For anyone who has ever tried to match the color of paint for a car or living room, you know you can get close, but it's always a little off. The paint on a motor that came off the assembly line in February is unlikely to exactly match that which came off in August.
That said, find something you're comfortable with and go with it, whether you have an automotive paint shop scan it and match it up, or if you find an off-the-shelf color that's close. Speaking as someone who has judged motors at many Concours type events over the years, I can assure you that unless you're painting a blue motor in hot pink, you're unlikely to have someone nitpick your choice if you're close.
If you are willing to pay for the overseas shipping, you can try Peter MacDowell's paints available through his link on the AOMCI.org site.
Have fun!
- Scott
