Evinrude Electric Shift problem...

Hello, i have a 55hp evinrude triumph. I am unsure of year, i cannot find any kind of id tag on the engine it is a electric shift, all of the wiring harnesses, selenoid, and modulator have been replaced, but the actual shift buttons are gone and i need some way to wire it up so i can shift gears. I know parts are hard to find and short of trying to find a complete control box is there any switches and methods for wiring it up that i can use??? please help...

It can be done and quite simply with the right kind of switch you can probably get at Radio Shack. I don't remember the wiring diagram but it has been covered on this site several times. You might check here:<br /><br /> http://www.outboardrepairs.com/shifter/
