My husband and where just given a 1954 Evinrude motor. From looking at pitures, we think it is a FleeTwin. We can barely make out an F, but the Twin is readable. Just below the word Twin is the word Sonic. The only refence I have found is augasonic. Is this engine a 7.5 ph, like the others? Model number 7516. And is there more information on this?

Slip of the keyboard there Jim. :) (I'm still on it!)
7.5hp. Spark plugs: Champion J6C gapped at .030".
Lower unit oil: OMC/BRP 'HiVis' or other brands of 90 wieght outboard gearcase oil.
It's got a bit of a reputation for tossing rods, but if you stick to 24:1 TC-W3 mix and never ever rev it up in neutral, you'll be just fine.
