Hi Gang

I was wondering if a foot casing on a evinrude would fit on a johson of the same power 40hp, cause my foot casing on my 1963 40hp Johnson the cav plate untop of the propeler is broken on one side only??

Some people on here won't understand what a "foot casing" is but I do. Your best bet is to take it into a welding shop and have a new piece welded in. If you get the right welder you shouldn't have to take the g/c off.

Thanks for the info will try and get one. But would it do anything to the motor like un-stabilizing it?/ or not running well in the water etc....????

If the part that is welded in and flush with the BOTTOM part of the cav plate it shouldn't effect anything. Remember, if the mtr is set up right the top part of the plate is out of water when going wot.
