evinrude fuel pumps ? 2 of them?

ok i am confused does the 1985 120 use 2 fuel pumps? it has a vro pump and has the pump on the block on the right side of the out board. if needed i can add pics . any help please.

It came with a VRO pump originally on the port side. If you don't want to use oil injection, you can use it as a fuel pump and the fuel side only can be rebuilt. http://www.maxrules.com/fixomcvro.html

ok i understand that but both pumps are hooked up at the sametime andi am having running problems after 30 mins it bogs down bad . is the other pump making the trouble?

It came with ONE pump that handled oil and gas.

Your immediate problem appears to be a fuel delivery problem, which can have a number of causes, such as:
. air leak on pump suction side (bad clamp, cracked hose, cracked tank pickup tube, etc., etc.)
. malfunctioning anti-siphon valve
. plugged tank vent
. trash blocking tank pickup screen
. plugged fuel filter
. collapsed fuel line
. bad fuel pump, test by removing fuel line, cranking engine, should get long positive spurts of fuel, MAKE SURE ENGINE CAN?T START by pulling emergency shutdown lanyard or other measures
OR
Tee a pressure gauge into fuel outlet. Should get 4 to 6 psig at fast idle (1200 RPM)

What is this other pump you are talking about ? Maybe the primer ?

Sounds like the primer solenoid, but that would not cause a problem 30 minutes out.

That sounds more like a blockage in the tank vent, or S.L.O.W. kicking in.
