Evinrude help!!

My 1971 evinrude twinsport wont hold a prime..I took hose off to carb and squeeze gas line ball hard stream gas comes out..engine was fully rebuilt 2 yrs ago but was used 1 time and sat till now..but engine is super clean

Have you checked all connections and proved the primer bulb all the way back to the tank is tight? Also, when you start the engine does she fire up and stay running or do you have to keep priming?

I suspect air is getting in somehwere, usualy once you prime, provided your lines are tight, she shouldnt lose prime...

check all your hoses and connectors (is you have any)...mine is direct to my engine with clamps and not the quick connects..

tilt the motor fully forward and squeeze the bulb...if you see gas running out the carb throats, you're losing pressure through a leaky float valve.

otherwise, it's either a fitting or a faulty bulb.
