I have what is supposed to be a 1987 200hp Evinrude. I think it may actually be an older model. The serial # is #61462381. If you caan tell the year form the serial # . please let me know. Thanks

Howdy, DEM.

If you have the model number, it is quite easy. The last 2 numbers (not letters) are the year of manufacture.

For example, your engine might have a model number like this: E200L85S. The 85 would be the year.

Good luck. :)

there were only two 200hp models for 87- J200STLCUA or J200TXCUC....drop the last letter and the 'CU' means 1987

I also could not find a Model # for my Johnson, but your Evinrude/Johnson dealer can run the Serial # and get you the Model # and thus the year of your motor. Or least they did for me:)
