I hDSC02136.JPGDSC02137.JPGDSC02138.JPGDSC02139.JPGave a evinrude-johnson 8hp that starts but not pumping water out of tell-tale hose.
hose and water inlet have been cleared by air compressor, My next step is to order a water pump kit online but I'm having trouble finding the year. There is no serial# anywhere but i'm posting some pics. If anybody can figure what year i would appreciate it very much thanks

To order correct Water Pump you need to know the Model Number, not Serial Number. Both should be visible on a Plate on Transom Bracket as well as a silver "coin"/ medallion located on the side of the Powerhead (Cylinder/crankcase casting). Can you find either one of these two?

No mdl# on the transom bracket or casting inside. This motor was given to me by my son in-law before he and his family were deployed to Germany. He told me a friend of his put this outboard together with spare parts from other ob's in his shop. I thought alot of Johnson-Evinrude motors used same parts.

I think all the 2 stroke 7.5 / 6 / 8 HP water pump kits are the same from 1980 to 2005.----Talk to a boat shop while you still have one in your area.

CrabGuy62, your motor looks a lot like my 1998 Model E8RECR. If yours was a "Frankenstein" put-together motor then I am not surprised the Transom Bracket Model/Serial plate is missing. Many times the Clamps on Transom Brackets get seized so swapping Bracket with an otherwise scrap motor makes an easy fix. But somebody did extra work if the Coin/medallion is missing from Engine Block. Not sure why anyone would do that...might be a sign of stolen motor that ended up "fenced" and eventually sold for Parts???
