hello all, happy fathers day! today makes my first fathers day 😁 anyway, i have a 1989 Evinrude 140 V4 90 degree looper. looking for another lower unit, because i believe my prop shaft is bent. my friend has a spare lower, but he said it came off a crossflow...

however, the prop shaft is a 13 spline and so is mine, its also a 20" shaft which mine is as well. the shift rod at the top has an offset in it just like mine. so im thinking it will work, just wanted come on here for help to see if anyone else knows for sure it will work.

ive seen crossflow lowers before that just have a slight bend in the shift rod at the top, but thats not the case here so im thinking maybe the lower is actually from a looper??

any help or information would be greatly appreciated, thanks everyone in advance

Yes they do interchange !!!----Shift rod needs to be swapped out.----And the correct shift rod height has to be set.

well it turns out, that the unit he has is a 1995, and mine is a 1989, so i think the drive shafts are different lengths?

Maybe your friend thinks his is a crossflow.----In 1995 there was a 60 degree looper and a big 90 degree looper.------Post model # to sort this out.----See if there is a part # on the driveshafts !----A 1995 crossflow will fit the big 90 degree looper from 1989.
