rebuilt lower unit.How much gear lube should the evinrude 120 hold.From being dry.Also what is the purpose of filling from the btm.(air pockets?)

malone,<br /><br />At least one quart.<br /><br />Yes, fill from the bottom to eliminate air pockets.<br /><br />Don't forget to replace the fill/drain plug seals!!

It should hold 33 oz. Get a pump that goes on a quart bottle of lube. Easiest and cleanest way to fill.
