hi<br /><br />>remove water-pump<br />>remove 4 bolts under waterpump which hold driveshaft lower bearing housing<br />>remove prop shaft bearing housing<br />>remove snap rings behind bearing housing (might want to borrow a good snap ring plier)<br />>remove reverse gear from behind snap rings<br />>sneak in with wrench along side the prop shaft and hold the pinion nut on the end of the driveshaft (inside gear housing)<br />>rotate the driveshaft to undo nut (since D.S. is bad already, turn with vise grips or pipe wrench)<br />>once nut is off, shaft is ready to be pulled out. Since the shaft is bad, grab hold of it with vise grip and hit vise grip with hammer....driving the shaft up and out. There of course is a special tool for this, but since the driveshaft is already bad, bruising it is not an issue.....<br /><br />good luck!
